SU undergraduate took part in a conference at the University of Coimbra

Second year Master’s student of the Department of Chemical Technologies of Organic Substances and Polymers of the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technologies Satbayev University (SU) Tursynbekova Manshuk, in October 2018, was on a business trip to Portugal, where she participated in 27th EuChemS Conference Molten salts and Ionic Liquids.

The conference was organized by the National University of Lisbon, which was founded in 1290. University of Lisbon is one of Portugal’s oldest and largest universities.

In 1537, after it was moved to Coimbra, it is better known as the University of Coimbra. The university has 8 large faculties, where approximately 20,000 students from all over the world study annually.

The conference was held in the city of Lisbon in the cultural center "Belema". Manshuk presented a report on the topic of her research work “Denitrogenation and desulfurization of fuels by Ionic Liquids”. During the conference, with colleagues from France, Japan, Germany, Sweden and China, problems in the field of ion-melt-based separation strategies were discussed, as well as the possibility of conducting joint scientific researches in this area.

At the end of the conference, certificates of participation and a collection of articles were issued.
