Taldykorgan Drama Theater play “Hakh Zholy” in Satbayev University
On October 12, as a part of religious extremism prevention program, “Hakh Zholy” play will be performed at Satbayev University. The play is staged by the Taldykorgan Drama Theater named after B. Rimova.
Taldykorgan Drama Theater, a national patriotic theater, was established in 1975 and in 2000 was named after People’s Artist of Kazakhstan Biken Rimova. It participates actively in national competitions and festivals and wins prizes.
“The Right Way”, a social drama by Asylbek Yksanov, was the first Kazakh play dedicated to fight against extremism. The protagonist of the play joins a radical religious movement, leaves his family and starts to propagate his way and beliefs. He ends up in prison and his mother dies of emotional distress. As the director says, the main idea of the play is to make young people think before making decisions that can soon make them pay the price that is way too high.
The performance will take place at the Assembly Hall of Satbayev University on October 12, 2018 at 19:00.
