The “Nowruz Through Children’s Eyes” art contest took place
In celebration of the great holiday of Nowruz, the Automation and Information Technology Institute, together with the Center for Digital Transformation in Education, organized the “Nowruz Through Children’s Eyes” art contest for the children and grandchildren of the institute’s staff.
The purpose of the contest was to introduce children to the national traditions of Nowruz through creativity, develop their imagination, and foster care for nature as well as principles of sustainable development.
As part of the event, a professional artist conducted a master class, teaching children the subtleties of painting and inspiring their creativity. In addition, a lecturer from the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages organized an educational and engaging session for the children, sharing interesting facts about the Nowruz holiday and conducting a Q&A based on proverbs and sayings. This session helped to increase the children’s engagement and enhance the festive atmosphere.
Young participants reflected the arrival of spring, national customs, the renewal of nature, and the harmony between humans and the environment in their artworks. The contest was closely aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
– Quality education and learning through creativity (SDG 4);
– Protection of nature and environmental care (SDG 13, 15);
– Responsible consumption and behavior (SDG 12);
– Harmonious development of humans and the environment (SDG 11).
At the conclusion of the event, all participants received gifts and certificates from the institute, and the winners were awarded prizes.
This contest was one of the important initiatives aimed at developing children’s creative abilities, promoting national values, and fostering environmental awareness.
