The Project Management Institute and Qazpatent Held a Lecture on Intellectual Property Rights

On December 18, 2024, the Project Management Institute of the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K. I. Satpayev, in collaboration with Kazpatent, conducted a lecture on "Fundamentals of Patent and Copyright Law in the Republic of Kazakhstan."

This event was organized in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly "Quality Education" and "Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure." The lecture aimed to enhance students' legal literacy in intellectual property protection, crucial for advancing in science and technology.

During the lecture, master's students gained insights into the following key topics: The patenting process and application procedures for inventions, Features of intellectual property protection in Kazakhstan, Basics of copyright law and its practical applications.

The welcome speech was delivered by the Deputy Director of the Branch – Head of the Training Center, Gulnaz Madiyarqyzy Azimkhan, who emphasized the importance of sharing knowledge and experience in the field of intellectual property. The speakers included the leading experts of the Qazpatent branch in Almaty, Raushan Keneskyzy Zhetybayeva and Tatyana Vitalyevna Gorbunova. They elaborated on the issues of patenting inventions and utility models in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the registration of copyright objects in the State Register of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The session sparked great interest among students, who actively engaged in discussions and raised questions on applying intellectual property rights in innovative projects. The knowledge gained will help the students implement projects aligned with the SDGs and contribute to the development of Kazakhstan’s innovative environment.
