The Satbayev University team starts a project in the field of transnational education together with the University of the West of England
A team of two universities has won a grant under the InterLinks Small Grants program (British Council) with the project " Developing Transnational Education (TNE) Partnership Between University of the West of England, UK and Kazakh National Research Technical University (Satbayev University) Kazakhstan".
This project aims to investigate the partners requirements, interests for collaboration in transnational education both from the UWE and SU. The project team will review the possibilities for joint academic, research and mobility programmes in the areas of engineering (civil, construction, architecture, BIM), green technologies, and computer science.
The project leader is Dr. Umar Tariq, University of the West of England, UK. From Satbayev University, the team included Dr. Bakhytzhan Elikbaev, Dr. Aizhan Kassymova, Vladimir Yaskevich, Sayat Nietbay and Adina Tolebayeva
It is expected that within the framework of the project to develop an action plan in the form of a document describing a strategy towards creating specific transnational education structure focusing on engineering (civil, construction, architecture, BIM), computer science and green technologies. The feasibility of establishing a franchise or delivery of UK programmes via a partner institution will be reviewed in the project. It is expected that project will open doors to exploring further partnership opportunities in Kazakhstan and other central Asian countries.
