The Silver University invites you to participate in the photo contest “Through the Lens – My World!”

The submission period is coming to an end for the second mobile photography contest of the Silver University at Satbayev University, held in collaboration with the Central District Department of Almalinsky. The contest is open only to individuals aged 55 and older. Each participant may submit up to 4 photographs. If the participant attended the “Secrets of Mobile Photography” course at the Silver University together with their grandchild, they are also welcome to participate in the contest jointly.

The photographs will be judged by a panel of professional photographers, artists, and representatives of the senior community. Evaluation criteria include: originality, technical quality and skill, composition, and emotional impact. The use of mobile device features such as camera settings, filters, and editing apps will also be taken into consideration.

Contest Categories:

• Life in Frame – family, children and grandchildren, friends;
• A Moment of Emotion – reportage, street photography, sports photography;
• Silver Horizons – still life, nature and architecture of your hometown and country, travel photography;
• Face the Issue – a creative and thoughtful exploration of social, environmental, and cultural issues facing modern Kazakhstani society.

Photo submission period: from February 15, 2025 to April 30, 2025.

Awards: medals, diplomas, and memorable gifts.

Eligibility: participants aged 55 and older.

Photo format: Photos must be submitted in electronic form, in TIFF or JPEG format.

Photo information: Each photo must have a unique title, include the author’s full name, age, and phone number.
