There was new devices installed in the Department of Chemical Technology of Oil and Gas Processing laboratory

This autumn the Chemical Technologies Department of the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technologies received equipment for studying the physical and chemical properties of oil and oil products from Fluor Corporation as a part of sponsorship support.

The new Engler viscometer for super viscous liquids and a refractometer for measuring the refractive index and the average dispersion of non-aggressive liquids and solids was installed in the petrochemical laboratory and now are successfully using for educational, and research purposes.

Fluor Corporation is an old partner of Satbayev University participated in some joint projects like summer schools, production and pre-graduation practices. Our cooperation began in 2004 with a project to modernize higher education in the field of chemical engineering. A year later, the Resource Center for Chemical Engineering was opened in Satbayev University. The company's leading engineers gave a series of lectures for students and faculty. Since 2012, Satbayev University has a scholarship program for students, aimed at finding and educating the best staff for the company. The annual amount of the scholarship for each student is 250 thousand tenge.
