"Today is My Birthday..."

Satpaev KazNRTU held a meeting dedicated to the birthday of great Kazakh poet Mukagali Makataev, organized and supported on the initiative of KazNRTU machine building students.
The poetry event was aimed to acquaint students with Mukagali Makataev’s writings and find out how strong his poetry affects today’s younger generation. His poems were recited by IA&B, IG&OGB and MSI students. The IIE student Serik Zhiger performed to a dombra the song "Fariz Kyz" set to Mukagali’s verse. A thing "Dombra-party" was another modern musical number enjoyed very much by the audience.
The second part of the event was devoted to Sergei Yesenin, the famous Russian poet and ended with a closing speech made by Mashani institute deputy director Laura Anarbek.
