Together for clean Kazakhstan: Satbayev University students planted legendary Sievers apple trees on their campus

An environmental campaign was held in Almaty, organized by Satbayev University together with Alma Qala initiative within the framework of |”Taza Kazakhstan” republican movement. University students and teachers gathered on the territory of the fourth dormitory to contribute to the greening of the city and environment improvement.

The event’s participants t planted seedlings of the Sivers apple tree, the wild ancestor of all modern apple varieties, a symbol of Kazakhstan's natural wealth. In addition, spring cleaning of the territory was carried out, which became part of efforts to improve the environmental situation and create a sustainable urban environment.

"Taza Kazakhstan" campaign, initiated by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, is aimed at improving the ecological culture of the population and attracting citizens to environmental protection issues. Since its launch in 2024, millions of Kazakhstanis have participated in the campaign, mass clean-up days have been held, thousands of trees have been planted and a significant amount of waste has been collected. The Alma Ata initiative has become part of the given movement, in which residents of the city plant apple trees on Almaty streets.

Satbayev University's participation in this initiative underscores the university's commitment to the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility. Such events contribute not only to improving the urban environment, but also to fostering environmental awareness among young people, forming a responsible attitude towards nature and the world around them.
