We invite students to Charyn to participate in the 17th National Student Geology Olympiad

Satbayev University invites students from higher education institutions across the Republic of Kazakhstan to participate in the second stage of the 17th National Student Subject Olympiad in the following academic programs: “Applied Geology” and “Geology and Exploration of Mineral Deposits.” The Olympiad will be held in-person at Satbayev University.

Students who have passed the first stage of the Olympiad at their respective universities are invited to participate. Each educational institution may nominate no more than 3 participants (from Kazakh and Russian-speaking groups). Languages of the event: Kazakh, Russian.

Olympiad Program

• General and Historical Geology (test questions) 
• Structural Geology (map work and cross-section construction) 
• Crystallography and Mineralogy (crystal forms and minerals) 

Date and Venue

May 3 – Opening of the Olympiad (Charyn Canyon)
May 4 – Olympiad competition, closing ceremony, and awards (Satbayev University)
