Within the framework of “Philosophical Stone” project, there was held the second meeting at Geology Museum

In front of Geology Museum of K. I. Satpayev Geological Sciences Institute, the old geological tent unfolded again and a guitar sounded - the second lecture took place as part of "Philosophical Stone" project, implemented with KAZ Minerals Group’s support. The lecture was held at the initiative of students and young geologists of Satbayev University, who showed a special interest in continuing the initiative, organized among the showcases with minerals and rocks from all over Kazakhstan.

This evening, the minerals came to life: at the meeting, the students made a real journey through time and culture. The lecture was led by actor of “Assabalar” theater and soloist of “Apollo's” group Apollon Korchinsky, who turned a scientific lecture into a lively story. He was joined by the artist Alpamys Batyrov, who turned the lecture into a theatrical performance with the help of light mapping. Geology appeared to the students not only as a science, but also as an important cultural code of humanity.

The students took an active part in what was happening, going in search of their own "philosophical stone". Quartz symbolized the purity of knowledge, obsidian - courage and risk in the search for truth, jade - strength and eternity. The participants associated minerals with personal associations, the history of science, and the future of civilization.

The project has once again shown that geology is not only exploration and mining, but also philosophy, art and strategy. Thanks to Kanysh Satbayev's legacy and KAZ Minerals Group’s support, the museum has become a space for intellectual search, where future researchers discover new meanings and are inspired by their profession.
