A traditional charity fair was held at the university
“Red Nose Day" charity fair - “Do something funny for money”, has become a good tradition of Foreign Languages Department in helping the children suffering from various serious diseases. This year, assistance was provided for Kakim Yerassyl Tumanbayuly, born in 2012, who suffers from insulin-dependent type I diabetes, cerebral palsy.
“Physical Education” Department and “SU Center for Inclusive Education” actively participated in organizing the given event, and we were supported by "Analardy Koldau ortalygy" (“Mother Support Center”) charitable foundation as well. Within the event, there were installed table tennis tables, “Cornhole” team game and popular Kazakh national game as “Togyzkumalak.”
As part of the charity fair, "Darmarka" eco-campaign was held for the first time within Satbayev University. The charity fair and the eco-promotion combine two initiatives:
- Assistance to children suffering from various serious diseases due to gathering funds for their treatment, support and necessary medicines provision.
- Promoting sustainable consumption and reducing the environmental impact by organizing "Darmarka" environmental campaign, where people can exchange and give a second life to things, contributing to reducing the production and overproduction of goods, as well as things for charity.
The charity event was taken place as part of implementing the SDGs ideas and assistance to people in need, under UN Sustainable Development Goals program.
We appreciate all the staff and students who participated at the charity fair and eco promotions! Your contribution is of great value!
