Year of the working professions began with the career guidance seminar for entrants, which was held at Satbayev University, bringing together schoolchildren from 8 cities of Kazakhstan. Advisor to Minister of Science and Higher Education Ruslan Yemelbayev conducted the seminar.

- We are very attentive to passing on to the youth the knowledge necessary to build a successful future for themselves and Kazakhstan, - Ruslan Yemelbayev shared. - And we see that the guys have an interest in innovation and engineering. This inspires us to create even more opportunities for the professional growth of young talents. On behalf of State’s Head Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, special attention is paid to technical areas. Every year, 60% of all grants are allocated to engineering and technical specialties.

The seminar started with the tour of Satbayev University building - pupils got acquainted with the work of the country's first technical university, and then took part in the seminar where special attention was paid to the future exam format and the key skills necessary for successful completion of UNT. Schoolchildren asked questions about admission and the prospects of studying as well as related to the dormitory provision and study at foreign universities in Kazakhstan.

The seminar, which was held as part of the program to promote working and technical professions, is an important step by Ministry towards the formation of a new generation of professionals who will choose a career in technical fields.
