Domestic electrobuses and charging stations for electric vehicles have been displayed in Almaty

    Reps of Almaty Akimat, Maslikhat and Regional Business Council visited a newly formed Almaty green company Higer Quazar and saw the first domestic electric buses and EV charging stations.
    The group consisted of Head of Almaty Roads and Passenger Transport Board Maksut Isakhov, Deputy Head of the Passenger Transport Board Erlan Adilov, Chairman of the "Almatyelectrotrans" LLP Rizvan Tsinaev, the shareholder of the «Green Bus Company» LLP Risbek Yertaev inspected the new Higer Quasar production facilities". 
    Higer Quasar is the first company in Kazakhstan dealing with the manufacture of modern electric public transport. It was set up by the Satpaev KazNRTU Scientific and Technical center Parasat, along with a Chinese partner company Higer.
    The guests were shown assembly and test lines, electric buses and EV charging stations. The given electric buses passed all possible tests and got licenses to operate on the territory of the Eurasian Economic Community and the European Union.
    Higer Quasar plans to hire KazNRTU mechanic graduates who did a placement in China. While talking to the quests they willingly agreed to work within their specialty at this new high-tech production company.
    Today’s world uses about 2 million EVs. In 2017 the American car maker General Motors, for example, with the support of the state produced over 30,000 electric vehicles. In China, the government covers more than 50% of the value of producing EVs, of which 30% are being covered by municipal authorities, and 20% - under state programs. Germany since 2016 is paying each customer, buying the EV, 4,000 EUR and exempts them from taxes.
    The Netherlands national program aims to increase by 2020 the EV and hybrid car park up to 200.000. Norway has put into practice a free vehicle-to grid system that resulted in every third car purchased in 2014 being the EV - the car running on electricity.
    Nursultan Nazarbayev in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan said, “ Our main goal is to enter the list of 30 developed countries in the world. One of the tasks needed for achieving this goal is to create conditions for the transfer of public transport on clean fuels, practical application of electric vehicles and establish for them an appropriate infrastructure”. 
    Almaty is Kazakhstan’s largest megapolis wherein 2.5 million residents live and work. On December 7 at the meeting of Region Investment Attraction Board the Almaty Akim Baurzhan Baibek said, "We want our city to become fully electric - to be home to a fleet of fully electric, zero-emissions, city-transit buses and cars.
