From theory to practice: Satbayev University have discussed the renewable energy’s future

Satbayev University held a master class and a workshop on "Transition to renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan: achievements and barriers" topic. The event was attended by students, undergraduates, doctoral students, teachers, as well as the invited experts from industrial sector and scientific institutes.
The event organizer, Yerlan Sarsenbayev, noted that the university is actively developing its scientific potential and cooperating with manufacturing enterprises. According to him, renewable energy is a key area for the country's sustainable development. Professor Amangeldy Bekbayev presented the analysis of renewable energy sources growth in Kazakhstan, highlighting both achievements and existing barriers.
Arman Assylkhan, Deputy General Director of Hi-Tech Qazaqstan, spoke about ongoing projects in the field of renewable energy sources, the difficulties of upgrading the infrastructure and the need to introduce new technologies. Teachers Ruslan Utebayev, Yerkin Khidolda, Zhannat Bekbolatova and others discussed key issues related to energy storage, capacity balancing, development of small-scale generation and decentralized electricity supply.
During the discussions, the participants proposed measures to integrate renewable energy sources into the country's energy system, including increasing the investment attractiveness of the sector, improving the regulatory framework and developing the energy storage technologies.
Master class and workshop have become an important platform for exchanging the knowledge and the search for solutions that contribute to Kazakhstan's transition to renewable energy sources. Satbayev University is continuing to contribute to sustainable energy evolvement, and the workshop is organized by Energy Engineering Department at A. Burkitbayev Energy and Mechanical Engineering Institute, which remains the leading training center for specialists in the given field.
