International Forum of Architectural Schools Commonwealth of Independent States
The International Forum of Architectural Schools of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held on April 14 and 15, 2023, organized by Satbayev University, the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Kazakhstan Academic Centre of the International Academy of Architecture KazMAAM-Eurasia.
The aim of the Forum is to develop proposals and recommendations for common approaches to modern architectural schools, culminating in the adoption of the Declaration of CIS Architectural Schools.
The program of the Forum will include the following activities:
1. An international competition of architectural schools will be held to present student works on the main types of academic creative disciplines on the premises of Satbayev University. An international jury consisting of heads of participating architectural schools and independent experts from the International Academy of Architecture KazMaAM-Eurasia will assess the works in several categories. Winners and participants will be awarded diplomas, certificates, and valuable prizes. The competition will also include master classes.
2. The professional creative exhibition "Continuity of Generations" will be held at the club of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
3. A round table on "Architectural education and practice in the XXI century" will be held at Satbayev University, with the participation of representatives from national architectural schools and Unions of Architects from CIS countries. The round table will conclude the Forum events and adopt a declaration outlining ways to reform architectural education and enhance cooperation in the field of architectural education and practice.
The Forum places an emphasis on practical and creative formats, including competitions, master classes, and dialogue platforms, to create more tangible connections between participants, stimulate dialogue and interaction both within the event and in future work. The extensive program will bring together professionals, providing an impetus for effective cooperation and the exchange of ideas in preparing future professionals in the field of architecture.
