Satbayev University has started the work within the framework of Future 17 Quacquarelli Symonds global initiative

In London, Satbayev University and QS World University Rankings international rating agency signed an agreement to join the consortium of universities Future 17. University has already started selecting the teachers and students to participate in the program.

Future 17 program is a global initiative proposed by QS agency and University of Exeter (England), bringing together the world's leading universities, business schools and student teams to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goals.

- Bringing together the academic community and companies around the world to achieve the common goal will allow them to actively participate in building a sustainable future, said Nunzio Quaquarelli, founder of QS.

Joining the educational partnership of the world's leading universities and global companies expands the opportunities of the consortium members to influence the global challenges of our time. Participation of the student community will allow the younger generation to shape their future today, take part in improving the well-being of inhabitants of the earth and protecting our planet.

As part of the program, teams of students from different universities are working on projects proposed by companies and charities to address a range of issues in the fields of education, health, social protection and employment, as well as combating the climate change and protecting the environment. Students gain international hands-on experience and help businesses around the world. They are assisted by academic mentors who are interested in achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The main requirements for participation in the program are proficiency in English.

"Under the auspices of Future 17 consortium, students will be able to participate in projects aimed at the sustainable development of their countries from the very beginning of their studies, which will allow them to influence the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals in their professional activities, no matter what industry they work in," said Meiram Begentayev, Rector of Satbayev University.

The agreement was signed at the annual international conference in education and science sphere Bet 2024, which is attended by a delegation of Kazakhstani universities headed by Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayassat Nurbek.
