Satbayev University held a conference on modern methods of seismic isolation of buildings and structures

International experts from Kazakhstan, Russia, and the CIS countries exchanged experiences in the field of seismic isolation of buildings at the scientific and practical conference “Features of the design, installation, and operation of buildings and structures with active seismic protection”, held at Satbayev University as part of the Eurasian Innovation Forum.

The conference was opened by the Vice-Rector for Science and Corporate Development of Satbayev University, Yerzhan Kuldeyev, who welcomed the participants and wished them success in addressing the scientific and research tasks of the conference. The Director of the T.Basenov Institute of Architecture and Civil engineering, Bolat Kuspangaliev, also spoke, providing the floor to representatives of ministries, the Eurasian Seismic Association, and design and construction organizations. The moderators of the conference were Mirken Abakanov from Satbayev University and Rustam Akbiyev from the Central Research Institute of Building Structures (CNIIP) of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, both renowned scientists in the field of seismic-resistant construction.

The following speakers took part in the conference: Rustam Akbiyev, Mirken Abakanov, Alexey Volodin, Olga Nazarteva, Alexander Uzdin, Boris Kim, Viktor Kostarev, Dmitry Glazkov, Vladimir Semenov, Dmitry Bondarev, Alexander Anushchenko, Alexey Kolesnikov, Petr Vasilyev, Stanislav Shulman, Alexander Gornostayev, and others.

Leading scientists, engineers, and representatives of the construction industry discussed modern technologies and innovative solutions to increase the stability of buildings in seismic zones. The presentations were dedicated to advanced methods of designing buildings with active seismic protection, as well as new technologies for monitoring and forecasting seismic activity.

Special attention was given to the development of innovative technical solutions for Kazakhstan, where seismic safety plays a key role in urban planning. Experts agreed that the use of modern seismic isolation methods for buildings and structures would minimize risks and ensure the safety of the population in the event of earthquakes.

The conference at Satbayev University sparked great interest among the design and construction community and became an annual platform for knowledge and experience exchange, significantly contributing to the strengthening of international cooperation in the field of seismic-resistant construction.
