Satbayev University held the results of the international architectural competition «World Nomad Center 2023»

On November 3, 2023, Satbayev University announced the results of a creative architectural competition for the International Youth Center for the World Nomad Center 2023.

The event was held in a friendly atmosphere and was accompanied by an exhibition of works of all participants, awarding winners was broadcast online.

From September 7 to November 3, the competition was prepared and held at Satbayev University, under the leadership of academician Bolat Kuspangaliev - director of the T.Basenov Institute of Architecture and civil engineering, president of the of KazIAAM-Eurasia. The author of the idea of the competition is President of the Public Foundation «World Center of Nomads» (Public Foundation «World of Nomads center») Beisenbek Kuttybekuly.

The purpose of the competition was to identify young talents who would become new stars in the architectural skyscraper.

According to the given assignment, the participants presented many original and expressive architectural concepts of the International Youth Center, which will be a key object planned in the territory of Kazakhstan World Center of Nomads. The whole complex, with the center and infrastructure facilities, will be located on the shore of Lake Balkhash.

Among the participants were students and young specialists up to 35 years old, designers of CIS countries. The competition gathered 36 teams and more than 140 participants.

The jury of the competition was composed of Honored Kazakh architects and urban planners and Dusen Kaseinov - state and public figure, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan, Honored Artist of Kazakhstan.

At this competition, the Kazakh academic center of the International Academy of Architecture of KazIAAM-Eurasia, for the first time, proposed a methodology for international competitions, when the winners get the opportunity to participate in the development of working drawings of future objects.

The winners were the teams - from the International Educational Corporation of Almaty, Architectural and Construction University of Tashkent, project company «Architectural Studio «BA CONCEPT»» of Almaty.
