Satbayev University Students Conquer International Open Space Competition
Students from Satbayev University performed brilliantly at the annual international Open Space competition, the finals of which took place in Astana on June 17, 2024. The event was organized by AGT Global with the support of Satbayev University, the Union of Architects of Kazakhstan, and other partners.
This prestigious event brought together the best teams of students specializing in technical fields and architecture, offering participants the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity. The results of the competition confirmed the high level of preparation of Satbayev University students, who took all the prize places in the “Architecture” category:
1st place – Andrey Chekmarev, Linara Baimuratova, and Tomiris Murat, students of the Master's program in “Architecture and Urban Planning”.
2nd place – Milena Abzhanova, Aiyim Amankosova, and Makhambet Saktapbergen, students of the “Architecture” program.
3rd place – Adel Adamzhanova, Temirkhan Marzhokhov, and Ainur Mustafina, students of the “Architecture” program.
The winners will go on an internship at City University in Hong Kong, while all other participants will continue to hone their skills, receiving diplomas and memorable gifts.
The competition took place in three stages, each representing a serious challenge for the participants. Teams of students developed and refined their projects under the guidance of experienced mentors. Each stage of the competition included new tasks that required innovative approaches and creative solutions.
In the final, the teams developed a project for a collaborative workspace for scientists and creative professionals to create multidisciplinary innovative projects.
Satbayev University’s students demonstrated a high level of training in technical specialties (chemical engineering, robotics, information technology) sphere. Satbayev University Roboshering team - Temirlan Sabitov, Salimzhan Shaimerdenov, Vladislav Zemtsov and Daniyar Issimbek ranked 2nd place in the contest of robotic projects and won in "Ideas and improvisation" nomination.
The high-tech Open Space competition is a prestigious event and a platform for identifying the best innovative projects for further investment and supporting the development of technological entrepreneurship in Kazakhstan. The winners of the competition gain the right to receive investments, invitations to partnerships, or proposals to sell their projects as ideas or implement them on an outsourcing basis. It is also an incredible experience of gaining valuable knowledge from market leaders. For the third year in a row, the mentor in the “Architecture” category was Vladimir Yaskevich, a senior lecturer at the “Architecture” department of Satbayev University, who made a significant contribution to the success of his protégés.
