Seismic training took place at Satbayev University
On September 11, Satbayev University’s students and teachers participated in the citywide seismic training, which took place in all higher educational institutions of Almaty. At "Attention everyone!" signal students and staff evacuated to a safe place - to an open place in front of the Main academic building.
Employees of Civil Defense, Fire Safety and Labor Protection Headquarters told about the rules of conduct and preparation for emergency situations, preparation of an "alarm suitcase" and other rules of life in the seismic region.
We particularly focused on the "alarm suitcase" - a basic set of things for survival in extreme situations. The list of necessary things includes:
- money and documents (copies of documents);
- first aid kit;
- water supply at the rate of 3-4 liters per person in winter and 5-6 in summer;
- canned food and high-calorie food;
- hygiene products;
- spare clothes and shoes;
- blankets;
- special accessories (compass, flashlight, radio etc.).
This is the set that will allow you to survive a strong earthquake without rescuers’ support. Preparing it in advance is the key to preserving the life and health for everyone.
The event was attended by 3,200 people.
