Student Cinema club opened at Satbayev University
On November 25, a student film club was opened at the Department of Social Disciplines of Satbayev University. The first guests of the Cinema club were child and adolescent psychologist Gulzhan Amangeldinova and director Ardak Toleubai.
The main theme of the Cinema club was the psychological analysis of films, which helps students to discuss pressing problems and draw conclusions. On the recommendation of a psychologist, at the first meeting, a feature film directed by Nadine Labaki "Capernaum" was analyzed.
Capernaum is French for chaos. The film is dedicated to the difficult life of a 12-year-old boy in the slums of Beirut and is shot in the "documentary" genre. The film is directed by Lebanese Nadine Labaki, whose work is based on the facts about the Syrian refugee crisis in Lebanon. The film is serious, requiring a deep philosophical and psychological analysis.
With an introductory speech, the Cinema Club was opened by the philosopher, Professor Serik Mendibaev. In his opening speech, the professor congratulated the participants on the opening of the cinema club and spoke about the philosophical meaning of art.
The next floor was given to Ardak Toleubay. He analyzed the film like a director. The director spoke about the difficult life of children in the cinema, about the irresponsible attitude of adults to the lives of their children, and made a philosophical analysis of the plot. The students asked the director a number of questions about the world of Kazakh cinema. At the end of the cinema club, the students turned to a psychologist, who noted that she could give psychological advice to students.
The organizers of the Cinema Club Nurgul Abdrazakova, Gulnur Esbergenova summed up the results and thanked the guests on behalf of the students.
The next meeting of the Cinema Club will be announced in advance. Now the organizers are collecting student proposals for choosing the next film.
