The President has appointed Iskander Beisembetov as the Rector of Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev.

Head of the state has united the two leading technical universities of Kazakhstan.

Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with Iskander Beysembetov, the Rector of Kazakh-British Technical University.

"During the meeting the Head of State announced the decision to unite the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after Kanysh Satpayev and Kazakh-British Technical University, as well as to assign Iskander Beysembetov as the Rector of united university", - said in a statement.

The President of Kazakhstan set a task to create the largest university-based research center. Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that in the current circumstances the country's economy needs highly qualified personnel, especially in good engineering and technical profile.
