The project for building the new student dormitory has been launched at Satbayev University

Solemn ceremony of laying the time capsule with the message to descendants in the future, dedicated to University’s 90^th anniversary, marked the beginning of the construction of the new student dormitory, took place at Satbayev University.

- We’re planning to start construction of the new 9-storey dormitory with 955 beds, and in 2026 students will be able to take the keys from us, move in and start their lives in the new place, - said Rishat Tynybekov, Satbayev University Construction Department’s director.

The new dormitory will be built within the framework of "Five social initiatives" state program for the construction and provision of places for students in new dormitories, implemented with the support of JSC "Financial Center" and RK Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The project will be 100% funded by “Forum Invest” investor and “EPC Stroy Group” construction company and has already received approval from City Planning Council of Almaty.

Yerlan Kozhikov, head of EPC Stroy Group, stressed that the company is glad to work with Satbayev University, as this is their contribution to the future of the country:

"We are ready to invest in providing the future engineers, the future elite of our country with comfortable conditions for training," he said. - We will use environmentally friendly and energy-efficient materials, comply with all legal norms on earthquake resistance, and plan to put the hostel into operation in February 2026.

The event was attended by representatives of all seven parties involved in the project: Chairman of University’s Board of Trustees, Professor Ulykpan Sydykov, Professor Abdykappar Ashimov from Council of Elders and University Council of Rectors, head of Youth Policy Department of Almaty Akimat Aziz Kazhdenbek, director of JSC “Financial Center’s” office in Almaty Ulan Utebayev, Baimbetova Dinara from “EPC Stroy Group” company, teachers as well as students.

- The Kazakh people have a sacred number - "zheti", which means "seven". Please note that the given capsule was placed by representatives of seven different structures, and each of them knows that dormitories are incredibly important for students. So let our efforts today bring results and the new hostel will become a home for future generations, where the successors of Dos-Mukassan will grow and develop," Ulykpan Sydykov said in his speech.

The laying of the time capsule has become a symbol of the new stage’s beginning in the growth of Satbayev University and its infrastructure. The new dormitory will provide comfortable conditions for students and help Satbayev University strengthen its status as a leading center for innovation and technical education in Kazakhstan.
