THE RK ARCHITECTS COMPETITION
On December 9, Satpaev KazNRTU hosted a Republican contest of best architectural works, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence, the 80th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Architects Union, the 55th anniversary of the RK’s architectural education and the 1000th anniversary of Almaty.
The contest aimed to identify leaders, deserving a public recognition in Kazakhstan’s architecture-construction industry and to select the best architectural designs for the XXVI Congress of the International Union of Architects to be held in Seoul, South Korea, 2017.
The contest was participated by members of the RK Union of Architects, International Academy of Architecture, KAZGOR Design Academy, the reps of departments for architecture and urban planning of the RK cities and oblasts, architecture-design firms, construction companies, creative teams and independent architects.
The KazNRTU rector Iskander Beisembetov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
He said, “Dear quests and participants! We are happy to welcome you at our university where 55 years ago Toleu Basenov, the founder of the Kazakh architectural school, initiated the opening of the architecture faculty. Today we have the honor to meet the first graduates of this department and are gratified to find how happily the 80th anniversary of the Union of Architects of Kazakhstan coincides with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s Independence.
The Architects’ Union boosted the development of architecture in Kazakhstan that was reflected on the face of our capital Astana. May there be success at every turn of life and all your dreams come true! Best wishes!
- The architects from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia came together to celebrate this important event for its being a great master class for future generations, - said director of the Institute of Architecture and Construction Bolat Kuspangaliev.
- I am sure young generation of Kazakhstan’s architecture will understand and appreciate our creative activity and lofty ambitions. They are certain to continue developing our ideas and give a new stimulus to solving architecture challenges facing Kazakhstan’s contemporary cities and towns.
–We are pleased to announce that the competition jury has decided 70 winners out of 182 design proposals submitted from 10 Kazakhstanie cities. It also has awarded 8 best diploma projects performed by 2015-2016 architecture graduates from 8 cities of Kazakhstan.
