The XVIII Congress was held at Satbayev University The Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On September 14, 2024, the XVIII Congress of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at Satbayev University. The congress was attended by delegates from all regions of Kazakhstan, representing branches, primary organizations and design companies.

The Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan (UA RK), which dates back to 1936, is one of the oldest creative public organizations that unites experienced, professional architects in its ranks. The UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan is doing a lot of work in Kazakhstan to consolidate the creative efforts of architects aimed at creating a comfortable, safe and aesthetically favorable human environment.

The Congress began with a minute of silence, which honored the memory of the members of the UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan who passed away over the past two years.

The moderator of the congress was Bolat Kuspangaliev. The reports of Acting President of the UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabit Sadyrbayev and member of the Audit Commission of the UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Akhmetov were heard, as well as speeches by delegates and guests of the congress.

The Congress held elections of the President and first Vice-presidents of the UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as a result of which the honorary architect of Kazakhstan, knight of the Order of “Kurmet” Gabit Sadyrbayev was elected President of the UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Arkinzhan Mametov and Serikpai Musin were elected the first vice-presidents of the UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a new composition of the secretariat of the UA of the Republic of Kazakhstan was approved in the person of young architects: Yerzhan Akhmetov, Aydin Akbai, Arman Kikot, Nadir Mametov and Anuar Kapanov.

As a result of the XVIII Congress of the Union of Architects of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a resolution was adopted reflecting such important issues as the intensification of work and wide coverage of all activities of the Union of Architects; attracting new talented young architects to the ranks of the Union; assistance in the selection of personnel for the positions of chief architects of regions, cities and districts; participation of members of the UA in the development, discussion and adoption the legislative and regulatory framework in the design field, including the new Building Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Urban Planning Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan).
