How to fill in the application to participate in state grant contest?
1. Before applying, select your favorite educational program at Satbayev University, corresponding to the relevant subjects in which you passed UNT.
2. Write down for yourself the code (column “Groups of educational programs” in the table) of the group of educational programs that includes the program you have chosen.
3. Indicate the group code and code of Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev) in the application for a grant: 029.
Program trains specialists in the field of biotechnology, capable of conducting the scientific research at the intersection of biology, chemistry, engineering and medicine. Program is designed for 3 years of study; graduates receive a PhD degree.
Program focuses on evolving the systems thinking and forming the competencies for working in an interdisciplinary scientific environment. Doctoral students study modern biotechnological approaches and methods, master applied analysis, participate in scientific projects, and master professional English, necessary for international scientific communication.
PhD in Biotechnology has the competencies to elaborate and implement innovative solutions in the fields of medicine, ecology, agriculture, chemical and food industries. They are able to conduct both fundamental and applied research in the fields of microbiology, biochemistry, genetics and cell engineering, and transform scientific results into specific technologies and products.
Particular attention is paid to the formation of research skills: students conduct laboratory experiments, analyze and interpret scientific data, and publish articles in peer-reviewed journals. In addition, all doctoral students undergo a mandatory foreign scientific internship.
Biotechnology specialists are in demand in research institutes, universities, international laboratories, start-ups and manufacturing companies engaged in developing the biotechnological products. They also find application of their knowledge in organizations working in health, ecology and sustainable development spheres.
