  • How to fill in the application to participate in state grant contest?

    1. Before applying, select your favorite educational program at Satbayev University, corresponding to the relevant subjects in which you passed UNT.

    2. Write down for yourself the code (column “Groups of educational programs” in the table) of the group of educational programs that includes the program you have chosen.

    3. Indicate the group code and code of Satbayev University (Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev) in the application for a grant: 029.

    4. The code in "Study trajectories" column is not necessary to use. It is shown for the convenience and to compare the code of specialties of previous years (until 2019) and the new code of educational programs (“Groups of educational programs” column).

The program is aimed at training scientific, technical, and engineering personnel with world-class competencies in the field of digital technologies based on integration related to fundamental physical-mechanical and practice-oriented engineering and technical education with research and development for enterprises of geodesy, cartography, geo-informatics, land management, and surveying.

Graduates receive Academic Master’s degree in engineering and technology for 1.5 years of study or Master of technical sciences for 2 years.

Undergraduates study geographic information systems in geodesy and cartography, problems of theory and methodology on modern cartography. Also, modern problems of land management, high-precision geodetic works, fundamentals of innovative technologies in surveying, organization of scientific exploration and scientific work, geometry of structural and quality indicators, monitoring the state of surface buildings and structures during construction and operation, aerospace environmental monitoring, ecological mapping and digital image processing.

Undergraduates receive knowledge related to basics of web-mapping, major ways and methods of land management and organizing the use of a single land fund, methods of collecting, analyzing, evaluating sources of thematic mapping and mapping due to GIS-technologies and modern cartography automation. They practice practical skills in cartographic and mathematical modeling, conducting aerospace environmental monitoring, developing maps due to digital image processing, monitoring the state of surface buildings and structures during construction and operation, digital aerial photography.

During training, students undergo pedagogical practice at the university; research practice at production; foreign internships at China Mining and Technology University, Michigan Technical University (USA), St. Petersburg Mining University, Institute for Problems of Mineral Resources’ Integrated Development under Russian Academy of Sciences, etc.

Program graduates can work as senior cartographers, gis-specialists, surveyor, topographer, photogrammetric specialists, surveyors, engineers for monitoring the use and protection of land resources, specialists for land relations department, engineers for land, cadastral engineers, college and higher educational institutions’ teachers etc.
