* The degree program is intended for applicants who enter after college according to the abbreviated training; admission requires the passing of the special subjects.

General vocational discipline: Metal science
Special discipline:  Fundamentals of metallurgical production

A comprehensive training program for specialists in the mining and metallurgical industry in the field of non-ferrous metals and their alloys, ore raw materials and waste of non-ferrous metallurgy.

Program’s distinctive feature is adaptation of the graduate to the manufacturing sector. Students learn to make comprehensive and effective decisions in the processing of mineral raw materials from concentrates to metals and their compounds and implement them in production.

Students study non-ferrous metals’ physical and chemical properties, physical-mechanical and casting characteristics of non-ferrous metals and alloys, various types and methods of raw material preparation, basic physical and chemical processes in producing non-ferrous metals, as well as technologies and methods of processing the raw materials.

40% of the student's training consists of general engineering disciplines, and students receive in-depth special training as well. They study technological mineralogy, mineral processing, metallurgical processes, metallurgical heat technology and engineering.

Students undergo practical training, during which they practice their skills in choosing the equipment, conducting the metal production processes and quality control, maintain technical documentation, calculate and analyze the production process.

Non-ferrous metallurgy is one of the principal branches of metallurgical complex, the industrial importance of which is very great and has especially increased with the development of radio electronics, nuclear energy, and space exploration, therefore, the given program’s graduates are in great demand on the market. Graduates work as metallurgists, process engineers and designers at metallurgical and machine-building enterprises, research institutes and design organizations.
