Satbayev University hosted an International Forum dedicated to the issues of building and security of large cities
Satbayev University hosted the II Eurasian Innovative International Forum on the topic “Current problems of development and safety of large cities”, organized by the T.Basenov Institute of Architecture and Construction together with the Eurasian Seismic Association (EASA) and the Kazakhstan Seismic Association (KAZASA) on seismology, earthquake-resistant construction and protection from natural disasters.
The event was attended by well-known scientists and specialists from the EAEU, CIS and far abroad countries to discuss important aspects in ensuring seismic safety and the development of cities and settlements. The participants and listeners of the Forum were representatives of scientific, design and construction companies, professors and teachers of specialized universities, as well as representatives of government agencies and other organizations interested in the safe development of urban infrastructure.
Within the framework of the business program of the Forum, the sections “Urban Planning and Architecture”, “Seismic safety and Antiseismic Construction” and “Building Materials, Technologies and Engineering systems” worked in full-time and remote forms. Speakers’ reports were presented both from the scientific and academic communities, as well as from design and survey organizations.
The Forum discussed the most acute problems faced by large cities in the development process, taking into account the existing buildings and ensuring the safety of the population. The speakers presented new scientific and technical developments in the field of earthquake-resistant construction and seismology, architecture and urban planning for the construction of large cities and settlements, demonstrated achievements in the field of modern progressive rule-making. A round table was held within the framework of the Forum, where current trends and possible solutions to the existing problems were discussed.
Within the framework of the Forum, honored scientists and specialists were awarded honorary medals “For contribution to the development of earthquake-resistant construction named after Academician Toleubai Zhunusov” from the Kazakhstan SEISMIC Association and medals “For contribution to the development of science and technology in the field of earthquake-resistant construction” from the Eurasian SEISMIC Association.
The Forum participants were presented with a unique opportunity to demonstrate their developments, share experiences and lay the foundation for future collaboration on a wide range of relevant areas in the field of earthquake-resistant construction. Following the results of the Forum, a resolution was adopted, which will be presented as recommendations to interested organizations and government agencies.
