The new "Museum of Technologies of Kazakhstan" has opened on December 21, 2022 at the Mining and Metallurgical Institute named after O.A.Baikonurov at Satbayev University. During the opening, the historical reconstruction group "Baidaraly Family" gave a presentation to the guests about "the technologies of the ancient nomadic martial arts: Besqary (Five Weapons)".

Unlike other museums, the new exposition is dedicated not only to ethnography, history, culture, but also to historical and modern technologies on the territory of Kazakhstan.

The museum includes the technologies of the Stone and Bronze Ages, the Early Iron Age (Saka period), the Ancient Turkic period, the Middle Ages, the Kazakh Khanate, as well as technologies of the 20th and 21st centuries.

The exposition opens with objects from the Stone Age (40-35 thousand years ago) and presents the development of fire, the manufacture of stone tools, sewing clothes, the construction of the first dwellings, the domestication of a wild horse. It continues with bronze metallurgy, the invention of the wheel (5-4 thousand years ago); then iron metallurgy, which made it possible to invent better weapons and armor, a biocomposite horsebow and horse harness, and start building giant kurgan mounds (3 thousand years ago).

However, the apex of the pre-industrial eras in the history of Kazakhstan were the Middle Ages (12-14 centuries) and the Kazakh Khanate (15-19 centuries). From the 12th century, the Great Steppe and the Nomadic Civilization achieved its highest peak; aloing with it there was the development of large cities and settlements, architecture, trade, crafts, engineering, technology, which led to the formation of the Kazakh Khanate in the 15th century. At this time, the Kazakh yurt was created, jewelry art and crafts developed, new technologies appeared, such as gunpowder weapons, steam engines, railways, and new types of cities.

The rapid development of new technologies in the last two centuries is also reflected in detail in the museum's exposition. The industrialization of Qazaqstan in 21st century, and the 21st century’s development of digitalization and robotics, green technologies, the renovation of old cities and the construction of new ones (Astana) are shown in detail.

The author of the museum idea is Daniyar Baidaraly, who is a master student at the Satbayev University. He was aided by the director of the museum Zhenis Moldabekov, entrepreneurs Dauren Valiev and Meir Barmenkulov, famous painters Beknazar Daurenbek and Kaboke Oralbek, as well as the students of Satbayev University. Work in the museum will continue: it will grow with new pieces and exhibits.
