Almost a secret gathering of programmers: nFactorial AI Cup 2023 was held at Satbayev University
For three days from April 7 to 9, Satbayev University hosted a unique event - International hackathon of IT developers in artificial intelligence field. Marathon lasted for three days, during which young programmers competed in creating applications for mobile phones and bots for a popular game using generative artificial intelligence. The prize fund amounted to 2,000,000 tenge.
Hackathon was organized by the largest IT incubator in Kazakhstan, nFactorial School, based on Satbayev University. The project was supported by Co:here AI and Shevron. Despite the special nature of the event, two hundred people from 13 years old, passionate about programming and artificial intelligence, took part in the hackathon.
— Despite the fact that it was a competition of narrow specialists, everything went very successfully, — said Aidana Nugmanova, nFactorial School team’s project manager. — There were a lot of different and interesting projects. And we were glad that among the participants there were many schoolchildren who are already trying to build their career in IT, are already doing something, already know something. This shows that the IT sector is actively developing.
In addition to working on the task, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted, play board games and improve their knowledge. Hackathon began with the lecture by the founder of nFactorial School Arman Suleimenov "50+ ideas for creating applications in artificial intelligence sphere". Arman shared ideas with the participants and inspired them to work and win the hackathon.
The second event was the lecture by the representative of Co:here AI, a Canadian startup in artificial intelligence sphere. This is a well-known company acting as the main competitor of Open AI, valued by investors at $ 6 billion. The company not only supported the hackathon, but also gave participants the opportunity to use their API.
At the end of the third day, the hackathon participants presented their innovative projects created with the help of artificial intelligence. The jury, which included the best Kazakhstani IT developers, selected three winning projects in the App track category:

On the same day, a battle of bots took place in Game track category. The battle was won by Alikhan Irgaliyev (1st place), Ali Aidaruly (2nd place) and Beigut Beisenkhan (3rd place).
Three days of coding ended this way, fun and testing in artificial intelligence field, which opened the doors for young programmers and helped them join the ranks of the world's best professionals in artificial intelligence field.
