An unforgettable journey
In September, Kazakh public celebrates 150th anniversary of the birth of the founder of Kazakh linguistics and literary studies, political leader and public figure, Alash movement’s spiritual leader, poet, publicist, public enlightener Akhmet Baitursynov. On the given occasion, from September 2 to September 6 of the current year, a group of scientists from Almaty made a trip in the direction of Almaty – Kostanay –Torgai - Akkol to visit A. Baitursynuly’s native places.
The group included philologists from Linguistics Institute named after Akhmet Baitursynuly at RK NAS, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, A. Baitursynuly and Satbayev University Home-Museum.
Kostanay State University’s Rector Seitbek Bekenuly greeted us with his warm wishes, for which we express our great gratitude to him. To capture the good moments, we took photos near the monument to Akhmet Baitursynov, located in University Square.
On September 3, we left Kostanay for Akkol village. Having overcome more than 600 km, we arrived at the poet's homeland. Here, on the site of the poet's native house, Akhmet Baitursynov Museum has recently been opened. The next day we visited the mausoleum of the public enlightener in Akkol, we dedicated the Koran in the mosque to the spirit of his ancestors.
As part of A. Baitursynuly’s anniversary celebration, we visited Torgai historical city, Zhangeldinsk district center, were acquainted with its sights. We visited the literary house of A. Baitursynuly and M. Dulatuly, specially built for the anniversary. To the Literary house of two great personalities, I presented my recently published book entitled "Yerlik pen kassiret" ("Courage and Tragedy").
It was written as an educational and historical study.
The only unpleasant incident during the trip was that due to a fire in Kostanay region, planned events such as the opening of A. Baitursynuly and M. Dulatuly monument in Torgai, dedicated to 150th anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynuly as well as the republican scientific-practical conference on "Ultyn gumyryn arnagan Uly tulga" topic ("Great personality, dedicated his life to the people"), unfortunately, were postponed. It was expected that Head of the State would take part in these events.
The nation’s teacher Akhmet Baitursynuly wrote:
«Тән көмілер, көмілмес еткен ісім,
Ойлайтындар мен емес бір күнгісін.
Жұрт ұқпаса, ұқпасын жабықпаймын,
Ел - бір күншіл, менікі ертеңгі үшін!»
The priceless legacy and life path of the people's figure who fought for freedom and equality of his people and gave his life for this will forever remain an example for the current generation!
