Atlanta Railroads: Satbayev University is building the fraternity of exchange students between Kazakhstan and China
Satbayev University and Xi'an Railway Vocational Technical Institute met online to give students participating in the exchange program an opportunity to talk about their experience of studying in a foreign country, and universities to exchange reports on their work.
The meeting was attended by Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev, Head of Transport Engineering and Logistics School Seidulla Abdullayev, Rector of Xi'an Railway Vocational Institute Zhao Chunping, as well as students, managers and teachers who ensure the work of the program.
As it is known, at the moment the best railways in the world are located in China. It has the longest network of high-speed railways with a total length of about 42 thousand km, and a high-speed mainline of maglev trains operating at speeds over 430 km/h. To become the best, you need to learn from the best, and Xi'an is one of the centers of this network and the largest transport and logistics hub in China.
The joint work of Satbayev University with the Xi'an Railway Vocational Technical Institute for the training of railway workers began a year ago. Universities have opened a two-degree program in the 2+2 format and an academic exchange program in mechanical engineering, transport and logistics sphere. Three months after the start of cooperation, the universities opened a joint educational center for transport and logistics. Universities credit each other, exchange students and teachers. Nine students from China have already arrived in Kazakhstan to study.
Currently, ten Kazakhstanis are already studying at Xi'an Railway Vocational Technical Institute, who study the Chinese language, Chinese culture and engineering in the railways sphere. Students were provided with all conditions and complete safety, representatives of the university organized an extensive program to introduce students to the culture of their country. Each of them is glad to get such an opportunity: not only to get two diplomas, but also to adapt to the new country.
The given program was made possible thanks to the creative cooperation of Presidents of the two countries and "One Zone and One Path" initiative, which opened the doors for the two countries to work together on trade and logistics projects.
