Auditorium named after Professor Gavdslyam Yessirkegenov has been opened at Satbayev University

As part of the solemn meeting of University’s Council of Rectors, the auditorium named after Professor Gavdslyam Yessirkegenov, a scientist, public figure, graduate of Satbayev University, who served as Rector of his native university from 1962 to 1968, was opened at Satbayev University.

The opening of the auditorium was attended by the members of Satbayev University Council of Rectors, who noted that the influence that this scientist had on the university was not limited only by his activities as Rector. Gavdslyam Yessirkegenov is, first of all, a scientist who influenced many generations of engineers in the republic.

Gavdslyam Yessirkegenov is the author of more than 260 works, including 2 textbooks, 206 scientific papers and reports, and 32 copyright certificates for inventions. Under his scientific guidance, a comprehensive processing of iron ores from the Atasuyskoye deposit of Kazakhstan was developed with the associated extraction of germanium and other rare metals.

Gavdslyam Yessirkegenov is a participant in the Great Patriotic War. A military pilot who has flown several hundred combat missions. He was awarded the Orders of Red Star, Patriotic War and other medals. For his labor achievements, he was awarded "Badge of Honor" medal, "For Labor Valor", "For valiant labor" medals and "Excellent worker of higher education" badge. He was twice elected a deputy of Alma-Ata City Council and twice a member of the city and district party committees of Alma-Ata, and also held many other responsible positions.

Many university professors still remember him as a demanding leader, tireless organizer of education and an outstanding scientist in the field of metallurgy of rare metals and semiconductor materials.
