“Dos Mukassan” street portrait gallery and the updated Ulykpan Sydykov coworking were opened at Satbayev University

As part of celebrating University’s 90^th anniversary, Satbayev University hosted the grand opening of “Dos Mukassan” street portrait gallery dedicated to the legendary Kazakh vocal and instrumental group, as well as an updated coworking named after Ulykpan Sydykov, an outstanding figure of science and education. “Dos Mukassan” gallery was created as a sign of respect for the group's contribution to the cultural heritage of Kazakhstan. The musical ensemble, created within the walls of Polytechnic in 1967 and popular in the 1970s, continues to inspire young people and contributes to strengthening the national identity.

The opening of the gallery brought together students, teachers and graduates of University, who shared their memories of the importance of the group for several generations of Kazakhstanis. The opening was attended by graduates of Satbayev University, founders of “Dos-Mukassan” Dossym Suleyev, Murat Kussainov and Ulykpan Sydykov, who made a speech thanking the audience and sharing their memories. The gallery gives guests the opportunity to explore the history of the group through paintings and artifacts belonging to its members. This is the first such gallery in University’s history. Its opening was also supported by participants of “Dos Mukassan” Nurtas Kussainov, Nikolai Buktukov and Daniyar Kussainov.

An updated Ulykpan Sydykov coworking was also presented, named after one of the respected professors and leaders of Satbayev University Scientific School. The coworking space was transferred to the library and turned into a learning space. Now there is a collection of technical educational publications, encyclopedias and reference books, the second floor has been built on, comfortable tables have been installed and comfortable conditions for teaching and scientific events have been created.

 Both initiatives are aimed at highlighting the importance of the cultural and scientific heritage of the country's first technical university, the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Kazakhstan. For more than 80 years, this university has been synonymous with technological progress, leadership and creativity. It is known for its developments in the oil-gas and mining fields, its ties with Kanysh Satpayev, as the alma mater of “Dos Mukassan”, and in recent years for an inspiring atmosphere for students and young scientists seeking the growth and innovation.
