Festival of books and creativity brought together the scientists, writers and students at Satbayev University

In honor of 1255^th anniversary of Kanysh Satbayev's birth and 90^th anniversary of University, Scientific Library of Satbayev University opened the Book festival dedicated to the scientific literature of leading publishing houses in Almaty. Festival was opened by Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev and the legendary scientist, member of "Aksakaldar Alkassy" Ulykpan Sydykov, who emphasized the importance of reading for the country's first technical university.

Within the framework of the festival, the renovated Ulykpan Sydykov Creative Center hosted a meeting with famous artists and poets-writers of Kazakhstan, the best graduates-entrepreneurs of our University, “Aksakaldar Alkassy”, as well as Scientific Library’s honored veterans.

Festival has become a platform for the exchange of knowledge and ideas, bringing together the students, scientists, writers and all book lovers. Within the framework of the festival, there were held a master class, an exhibition and fair of technical textbooks and meetings with publishers "Lantar books", "Almanac Publishing House", "Daryn", "Epigraph" and "Jogary Bilim" publishers.

Festival guests noted the outstanding achievements of Kanysh Imantayevich Satbayev and his contribution to science and education growth in Kazakhstan and his inspiring role for the younger generation of engineers. Festival inspired young people to read and create, and also created the platform for communication.

For the first time, Festival, combining the academic environment with creative initiatives, was held at University, providing the students and teachers with the opportunity not only to participate, but also to actively influence the cultural process.

Culmination of Festival was the performance of the honored actress of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mayra Ilyassova and the honored worker of Kazakhstan, singer Tolkyn Zabirova.
