Forum of Central Asian countries’ Rectors began its work with the visit to Satbayev University exhibition
Kazakhstan has become a co-chair country of Bologna Process Monitoring Group (Bologna follow-Up Group – BFUG) this year. Forum of Central Asian Countries’ Rectors was organized within the framework of the given event and is aimed at creating a synergetic effect in developing the innovative scientific process of Central Asian states. Forum’s purpose was the digital transformation of universities and integration of Central Asian countries’ research space.
Two leading universities of Kazakhstan — KazNRTU named after K.I. Satbayev and KazNU named after al-Farabi became the universities that hosted the forum delegates on their territory. Representatives of Central Asia’s Ministries of Education and Science met on their territory: First Deputy Minister of Uzbekistan Komilzhon Karimov and Deputy Minister of Kyrgyz Republic Rassul Abazbekuly. Minister of Education of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov was connected online.
Also participating in the forum were the Provost of Nazarbayev University, Rector of Tajik National University Kobiljon Khushvakhtzoda, Rector of the International University for Humanities and Development Esen Aydogdiyev, Vice Rector of the Kyrgyz Technical University named after Razzakov, Rector of the Tashkent State Transport University, and many others.
The universities hosting the forum organized a global exhibition of achievements with the purpose to acquaint the forum participants with our country’s innovative developments. At Satbayev University exhibition, among other exhibits, Situation Center for the national company "Baiterek", UAVs, FlyCam drones and Kazakhstani electric vehicles were presented – innovative elaborations created on the university’s scientific and production base. Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Alibek Shokparov made a brief presentation on the university for Forum guests.
- University's research teams are conducting research in priority scientific areas of the republic, one of the key areas of research is the development of projects in the field of "green technologies" and extraction of hydrocarbons from alternative sources, and we will be glad to the new collaboration, - he said at the presentation.
Within Satbayev University presentation, the guests were acquainted with the capabilities of University, including Physics and Technology Institute, Hydrogeology Institute, Metallurgy and Enrichment Institute, Engineering Profile Laboratory and Highland Scientific Station of Cosmic Rays. The broad opportunities provided by these organizations will help the scientific teams of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan jointly advance the region’s innovative industry and raise the global competitiveness of higher education in Central Asia.
The forum continued on the territory of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where the guests also visited the exhibition of achievements.
