Friends won Satbayev University City Cybersecurity competition
"Satbayev University Capture The Flag-2023-Red-Line" city cybersecurity competition was held at Satbayev University. 30 student teams from Satbayev University, IUIT, KBTU, Energo University, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and even from Nazarbayev University and Astana IT University took part in the given contest.
120 students tried to demonstrate their achievements in the world of information security, but the victory went to the best of the best:
1st place – FR13NDS TEAM (Astana IT University)
2nd place – Em1x team (Astana IT University)
3rd place – Space team (International IT University)
4th place – RedNet team (Satbayev University)
5th place – Cthulhu team (International IT University)
Nomination best female team "Techno Woman" - "Totally Spice" team (International IT University)
SUCTF-2023-Red-Line is a creative platform aimed at developing an ethical society of cybersecurity specialists in Kazakhstan. This is a real training ground for developing the practical skills in cybersecurity sphere in real mode on practical tasks.
Participants receive tasks to hack the system using the "pentesting" method or "testing the security of computer systems by modeling an attacker's attack". Participants are given real scenarios, which they work out by diving deep into ethical hacking.
Teamwork is a key element of the competition, participants solve the exciting tasks while facing cybersecurity challenges in real time. A specially designed training ground creates an atmosphere of real work, where each team will be able to put their skills into practice.
The final battle gave the students the opportunity to realize their potential in the field of analyzing the object of attack for security vulnerabilities and their exploitation. As part of the competition, the presentations on behalf of information security experts were organized as well.
