Innovations without borders: Satbayev University and Hof University have opened the collaboration programs

Representatives of Hof University of Applied Sciences (Germany) visited Satbayev University to get acquainted with the scientific potential of the first technical university of Eurasia. Delegation headed by Dean of Computer Science Faculty, Professor Andrey Bakhman, was met by First Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Strategic Development Samgat Yermekbayev.

At the meeting, there were held negotiations on a number of significant projects that will open up new opportunities for both universities’ students and teachers. Much attention was paid to elaboration of double degree programs in the field of information technology and student internships, exchange programs for students and teachers, which will provide a unique opportunity to apply the knowledge of narrow-profile specialists in practice in an international environment. In addition, the parties discussed the implementation of joint research projects that will help combine the resources and scientific fund of the two universities.

This is the second meeting between the universities since April 2024, when Satbayev University signed the cooperation memorandum on academic mobility and student exchange with Hof University. As a result, in September, a number of Kazakhstani students have already started studying in Germany. Satbayev University, for its part, received teachers, undergraduate students and young scientists from German partner- university, who came to assess the learning conditions and features of IT areas that they could join.

Apart from academic programs, the delegates were interested in language courses: in addition to Kazakh and English, Chinese and Korean are taught here. Satbayev University is one of the most international universities in Kazakhstan, the doors of which are open to students from all countries, and the atmosphere here is friendly and open. It was highly appreciated by young programmers from Germany.

The next step is to launch a two-degree program, which will first be commenced in Computer Science direction, and then in other areas.

The visit of its representatives to Kazakhstan was another step towards strengthening the partnership between Satbayev University and Hof University of Applied Sciences, opening up new horizons for students and teachers for academic and professional growth.
