International Conference dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Academician Kanysh Satbayev and the 85th anniversary of Satbayev University Almaty city
From April 10 to 12, 2019 in National Academy of Sciences of Republic of Kazakhstan and at the leading technical university of the country, Satbayev Kazakh National Research Technical University is hosting “International Scientific and Practical Conference dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Academician Kanysh Imantayevich Satbayev and the 85th anniversary of Satbayev University foundation.”
Based on the conference agenda, such issues as education integration, science and industry are going to be discussed. Alongside, the items related to strategic priorities formation of scientific and technical collaboration of higher educational institutions, scientific organizations and industrial enterprises of Kazakhstan, and the problems on ensuring a sustained chain in deployment of new technologies into production have been considered to highlight.
The conference at Satbayev University is associated with its historical role and position in technical education development and science in Kazakhstan. In the formation and evolution of Kazakh Mining and Metallurgical Institute (KazMMI), Kazakh Polytechnic Institute (KazPTI), Kazakh National Technical University (KazNTU) prominent figures of education and science, who led the university in different years, made their enormous contribution.
Predominant wealth and pride of the university are our graduates. Being the owners of deep and unique knowledge acquired within the walls of their native Alma Mater, our graduates occupy leading positions in various spheres and work for the good and prosperity of our homeland. For outstanding achievements in science and industry, 91 university graduates were rewarded the high title of laureate of Lenin, Stalin and State Prizes as well; over 60 people have become academicians and associates of National Academy of Sciences. Six graduates - heads of large industrial enterprises were rewarded the title of Socialist Labor Hero, the title of Soviet Union Hero. Among the graduates, there are Commanders of ‘Halyk Kaharmany’ Order, Kazakhstani figures, owners of Labor Hero Order of Kazakhstan, legendary Kazakh writers, laureates of State Prize of Kazakh SSR as well.
The history of any higher educational institution is not just history; also, it is the past and memory, people’s names and activities, at the same time it is the basis of progress. KazNRTU’s staff has confidently made a step into the 21st century, retaining its leading position in education and science sphere.
