Iskander Beisembetov: Kazakhstan marks the Gratitude Day
On January 14, 2016, the Head of State signed the Decree № 173. According to this document March 1 is declared the Day of Gratitude. Nursultan Nazarbayev said, “On March 1 representatives of all ethnicities of the country would be able to say thank you to each other and to Kazakhs for tolerance and hospitality expressed in the years when various ethnic groups were deported to Kazakhstan. – That is why March 1 – the Day of Gratitude of all ethnicities to each other and to Kazakhs, who expressed mercy and accepted these people as their relatives.
The population of Kazakhstan is various by its ethnical compound. Today representatives of more than 125 nations and nationalities live here, they registered 4166 religious societies and 621 ethnic cultural unions. Modern Kazakhstan, which is a secular state, has more than 3,088 active religious associations and communities, belonging to 46 religious teachings. The country has created all conditions for cultural development and preservation of historical heritage and the language of many nationalities inhabiting Kazakhstan.
