Laboratory of predictive maintenance technologies for electric drive systems has been opened at Satbayev University
As part of 90th anniversary of Satbayev University, the grand opening of the new Laboratory of predictive maintenance technologies for electric drive systems took place. The new classroom was opened in collaboration with WEG, a world leader in the production of electric machines and industrial equipment.
In his welcoming speech, Satbayev University’s Rector Meiram Begentayev noted that thanks to modern equipment, university students will not only keep up with the times, but will also be able to find jobs in WEG group divisions of companies around the world.
Laboratory provides students with the opportunity to work on demonstration stands with WEG gear motors equipped with WEGSCAN vibration and temperature sensors for predictive analysis of equipment. This not only allows them to expand their theoretical knowledge, but also to gain valuable practical experience, which is so necessary in the conditions of the modern energy industry.
Sergey Mushchenko, CEO of WEG Central Asia, expressed confidence that long-term cooperation with University will not only ensure the sustainable development of the company in the region, but also increase demand for electrical equipment manufactured in Kazakhstan.
"Laboratory is equipped with state-of-the art and versatile equipment. The stands in this laboratory empower to simulate the widest range of behavior of electric drives, which enables to reduce to zero such an indicator as accident rate. Also, the digital monitoring system allows to determine in advance the need for repairs, which significantly reduces maintenance costs. All this contributes to increasing the competitiveness of Kazakh products in the world markets," Sergey Muschenko said.
The opening of the laboratory was made possible in many ways thanks to Klara Toksanbayeva, a graduate of Satbayev University, who now occupies the position of manager for work with authorized GR/ESG bodies at WEG.
WEG company is one of the world leaders in manufacturing the electric machines, drive equipment, industrial electrical equipment and electronics.
