Master of Satbayev University has elaborated an innovative verticalizer for people with disabilities
At Satbayev University Mechanical Engineering and Energy Institute, Master Zhalgasbek Beknur, under the guidance of Student Design Bureau at Mechanical Engineering Department, presented a unique device - a verticalizer designed to improve the life quality of people with special needs.
The given rotary verticalizer is used for rehabilitation of patients with cerebral palsy, after spinal and traumatic brain injuries, as well as after a long stay in a supine (horizontal) position, etc. Easy and convenient to use, the angle of inclination of the bed from a horizontal position (maximum) is 80 degrees, making it an effective tool for medical procedures.
Verticalizer elaboration became possible thanks to the active participation of students and faculty, as well as Center for Support and Maintenance of Inclusive Education within the framework of TOM Almaty Makaton Festival. In response to the request from public organizations to create a device for people with limited mobility, Satbayev University replied with enthusiasm.
Recall that Center for Support and Maintenance of Inclusive Education was opened by Parliament member Tansaule Serikov with the support of Minister of RK Science and Higher Education Sayassat Nurbek at Satbayev University on May 5, 2023.
Verticalizer, developed by the student in collaboration with mentors represented by teachers and employees of SDB at Mechanical Engineering Department, provides new opportunities for patients with disabilities. The versatility and effectiveness of the device empowers to expand the range of people who can be assisted.
