New partner of Satbayev University – “LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia”
Implementing the principle of "learning through research and innovative production" Satbayev University continues to develop partnerships with enterprises and companies in the industry of Kazakhstan. On October 27, a meeting was held between representatives of Satbayev University, organized by Geology and Oil-Gas Business Institute with representatives of LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia.
The meeting was attended by General Director of LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia S.S. Novosselov, his Deputy for Commercial Affairs A.A. Kharitonov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs B.Zhautikov, Director of GOGB Institute A. Syzdykov and "Petroleum Engineering" Department Head G. Yeligbayeva and other university staff.
The parties focused on discussing the competencies necessary for a specialist to get a job and a successful career at LUKOIL, and practical steps that will help Satbayev University to form such competencies among university students.
The parties discussed further cooperation, organization of joint dual training, industrial practices, lectures by the company's experts for Satbayev University students. Alongside, the parties discussed such issues as:
- The possibility of organizing a department subsidiary at LUKOIL enterprise.
- Participation of LUKOIL representatives in industry forums organized by University.
The parties expressed full mutual understanding on all the issues discussed and decided to develop a Roadmap of joint activities to implement the set goals.
“LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia” is a subsidiary of LUKOIL, one of the largest international oil-gas companies in the world, which accounts for about 2% of global oil production and about 1% of proven hydrocarbon reserves. The company produces and supplies lubricants, providing high-quality lubricants not only to Kazakhstan, but also to the whole of Central Asia. Among the largest companies-consumers of LUKOIL oils in the Republic of Kazakhstan are ArcelorMittal Temirtau, ERG Group, KazZinc, etc.
