Nursultan Nazarbayev: Kazakhstan's science can not get rid of Soviet influence

At the session of the general meeting dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted several problematic moments in Kazakhstan's science.
He supposed that Kazakhstan's science can not get rid of Soviet influence: "Experienced design developments reach less than a quarter of all scientific work. Kazakhstan scientists actively patent their designs, but the majority of patents are not in demand. The financing of science is carried out mainly at the expense of the state. No orders are attracted from the real sector. Modern works often contain plagiarism. It's time to radically change the approaches to the development of Kazakh science.
