“Polytech” is ready to implement President's instructions: Askhat Aimagambetov visited Satbayev University
On January 15, as part of a working trip, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Askhat Baymaganbetov, paid a visit to the oldest technical university of the country, where he met with the leadership of the university.
Rector of Satbayev University Meiram Begentayev presented to the Minister the results of activities and the updated facade of University’s main academic building. Minister visited the dormitories of the university and laboratory exhibition of unmanned aerial vehicles, met with students and inspected the university grounds to assess the damage left after the riots.
The meeting was held as part of the work on providing affordable high-quality technical education and opening branches of five foreign universities in Kazakhstan, initiated on behalf of the country's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Earlier, Askhat Aimagambetov told the press that the number of grants for studying at universities in the technical field of training will be increased this year. These targeted grants will be allocated for studying at the leading universities in the country, including for studying at Satbayev University.
University presented the material and technical base and University’s immediate plans, ready to accept a new generation of students - future engineers and industrialists.
— We planned to enter the top 300 universities of QS rating, but after President's address we set new goals, and now we plan to enter the top 200, - Meiram Begentayev said at the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Bakhyt Zhautikov, Vice-Rector for Corporate Development and Strategic Planning Yerzhan Kuldeyev, Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation Alibek Shokparov, Vice-Rector for Socio-Cultural Development Mansur Alimkhanov and other Board members.
