Power of the outsider: Satbayev University hosted a meeting with Arsen Tomsky, founder and CEO of the global InDrive service

"If you see injustice, it's time to create a startup" - this is the opinion of Arsen Tomsky, which he shared at the meeting that took place at Satbayev University. Arsen Tomsky, founder and CEO of the global transport and urban services platform InDrive, spoke on "Underdog Entrepreneurship" topic and answered questions from the audience.

Arsen is a vivid example of a successful businessman who managed to create a global business, starting with a small social network project for drivers in Yakutia. He saw the potential in creating a service where passengers and drivers could directly negotiate the price of a trip, bypassing intermediaries. And, thanks to the efforts of the founder, InDrive quickly expanded beyond Yakutia and Russia, becoming a popular service in 750 cities in 46 countries around the world.

At the meeting, he shared the history of creating InDrive, his vision of business and his vision of solving the social problems. Thus, one of Arsen Tomsky's new projects is Almaty Air Initiative polluted air purification project, to which he invites all interested parties. Satbayev University’s Rector was the first to offer help to his organization, students and volunteers in solving the given urgent issue. Another project that Arsen talked about was Beginit non-profit initiative for teaching the leadership to children.

The meeting was attended by students and teachers of Satbayev University, Almaty entrepreneurs, friends of the university. Everyone was able to ask a question of interest, starting from inclusive education and ending with the fate of sculpture in Kazakhstan. The program also included a personal meeting of the founder of InDrive with undergraduates and doctoral students.

Arsen Tomsky is not only a successful entrepreneur. He overcame many difficulties on the way to success, demonstrating the incredible perseverance and dedication, and is now known for his out-of-the-box thinking and ability to find innovative solutions. This meeting was a unique opportunity to ask questions to one of the leading representatives of the tech industry and get valuable advice from the person who built an international business from scratch.
