Professor Elena Sdvizhkova gave a course of lectures at Satbayev University
From November 18 to December 14 Elena Sdvizhkova, Professor of the leading University of Ukraine-national Technical University "Dnipro Polytechnic" (Dnipro) is on a visit to Nazarbayev University.
Doctor of Technical Sciences Elena Sdvizhkova heads the Department of higher mathematics of NTU "Dnipro Polytechnic" and closely cooperates with the departments of mining profile, being a recognized specialist in geomechanics. She is the winner of the State prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology in 2016, she published 6 textbooks, 7 monographs, 101 articles, in particular, 14 articles cited by SCOPUS and WEB of Science. Under her leadership, 5 master's theses (Ph.D.) were defended.
Elena Sdvizhkova gave a course of lectures "Digital technologies in the study of geomechanical processes in rock masses and soils" for undergraduates and doctoral students of the specialty Mining "Institute of Geology petroleum and mining engineering", presenting the possibilities of mathematical modeling to assess the stability of underground structures, boards of dumps and quarries, determining the load on the support of underground workings in complex mining and geological conditions. This course is relevant and interesting for masters and doctoral students working on dissertations in the field of "Mining engineering". A practical lesson devoted to statistical processing of physical or computational experiment data and correlation and regression analysis was also conducted. Modeling of geomechanical processes at underground mining by means of programs RS2 and RS3 of firm "RocScience" was presented, technological moments of increase of stability of underground mine workings both for fields of Ukraine, and Kazakhstan were discussed with doctoral students.
On November 22, Professor E. Sdvizhkova was a guest at the student championship on solving the technical task proposed by EuroChem and took part in the discussion and discussion of the proposed technological solutions.
