Reconstructed Thermal campus was opened at the university

On April 12, on the Day of Science Workers, Satbayev University hosted the opening ceremony related to the reconstructed Thermal campus of University. This became possible thanks to the work of O.Baikonurov Mining and Metallurgical Institute’s as well as Energy and Mechanical Engineering Institute’s directors Kanai Rysbekov and Kassym Yelemessov. It is worth marking that they attracted sponsors to reconstruction, who worry about the fate of higher education in Kazakhstan.

Marat Zhakupovich Bitimbayev, a scientist, teacher, public figure, Academician at RK Mineral Resources Academy and 3 other technical academies, including RK International Engineering Academy, formerly Deputy Minister of Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, opened the thermal campus.

He congratulated the staff on the opening of the new building and shared his experience: "I graduated from this university in 1962, then it was still an institute, and this is the first time I am speaking to the staff, students of this university, this is a remarkable event for me!" he said.

The teachers spoke on the difficult path of reconstruction and expressed gratitude to Satbayev University’s friends, whose invaluable contribution helped the university to complete it. One of the walls of the building was decorated with a commemorative plaque listing all the sponsors of the reconstruction.

Kanysh Satpayev’s descendants, teachers, students, as well as SU partners attended the opening ceremony. The students could not help being glad and lifted their favorite teachers in an embrace. Such emotional gratitude was also awarded to Infrastructure Management Director Tynybekov Reshat Imelovich, who had coordinated the reconstruction.
